I'm Garth Dyke, a Canadian editor, story editor and director working across factual television, documentaries and digital series.
I've spent more than 25 years in production and post, directing on location and building stories from the footage that comes home. Those experiences inform each other. In the field, I pay attention to the details and conversations that might become the heart of a scene. In the edit, I look for the structure that lets those moments land.
I've directed four years of Timber Kings, the premiere season of History's Most Haunted, and Recipes for Connection. My editing and story editing work includes Border Security: America's Front Line and The Assembly. The subjects change, but the job stays close to the same: find what is honest, make it clear, and give people a reason to care.
I'm based on Vancouver Island, but the work has taken me far beyond British Columbia: from Anchorage to Mumbai, Moscow and Munich, and to locations in Costa Rica. Every place brings a different crew, culture and story to understand.
